What kind of visual do you get when
you start thinking of Hawaii scuba diving? No doubt you probably see
sparkling water, unique sea life, luscious foliage underwater, and
incredible formations left by volcanoes. There is not place in the world
like Hawaii for scuba diving, and this is the consensus of most people who
enjoy scuba diving around the world.
There are a variety of places within the Hawaiian Islands that you will want
to visit for a great diving experience, depending on the specific type of
scuba diving you enjoy. Some people may want to dive to get a closer look at
the variety of sea creatures, while others may be diving to enjoy seeing the
variety of beautiful foliage deep below the surface. There are other reasons
that some people enjoy scuba diving off the coast of Hawaii as well. This
reason is diving to see shipwrecks. There are many underwater shipwrecks in
the Hawaiian Islands area, and there are many people who come from various
places in the world to have the chance to dive and explore these shipwrecks.
One of the best collections of shipwrecks, as well as one of the more
interesting ones in this area is just off the beautiful shores of the Oahu
Island. Imagine being able to swim through the remains of very old
shipwrecks that have been under the sea for years, which while collecting
sediment, still have their original integrity. This type of experience is
one of the most popular reasons that people come to Hawaii to scuba dive.
These amazing shipwrecks that are preserved underwater add a sense of wonder
to the diving experience that cannot be found in other locations for scuba
diving.
Another experience that many people enjoy when scuba diving in Hawaii is
being able to hear the song of the humpback whales, which is a beautiful and
haunting song. Between November and April, people com from places all over
the world to be able to enjoy diving with the humpback whales in close
proximity. While it is probably not a great idea to get to close to these
animals, they are known to be very gentle, which makes them excellent for
having a great scuba diving experience in Hawaii. Some people may even be
more daring, and may choose to go on scuba dives that allows them to get up
close to sting rays, sharks, manta rays, and other forms of marine life.
If you are looking for a prime experience while scuba diving in Hawaii, the
manta rays are exciting. There are many manta rays to be found right off the
Big Island. This is also a great place to go night time diving as well. You
will find that in the water, the animal life is very different at night,
much like it is on land. When you go diving at night, you will find that
there are entirely different things that you will see that you will not be
able to see when you are diving during the day time.
One of the best places in Hawaii to go scuba diving for a great experience
is Molokini crater. It is such an exciting experience because diving here
allows you to explore some amazing volcanic formations that are some of the
oldest to be found in the islands of Hawaii. This is one of the most popular
scuba diving attractions that brings people to Hawaii instead of other
tropical diving locations.
Another very popular place to go scuba diving in Hawaii is Au Au Canyon.
This is actually a very large crater that was formed by a volcano many years
ago. There are a variety of holes in the walls of this crater, and inside of
these holes, there are many interesting organisms, which makes this an
interesting dive site. While there are a variety of volcanic craters in the
area, the Au Au Canyon is different because it is totally underwater, with
none of the surface touching the air at all.
Another popular volcanic crater site that many scuba divers enjoy is Hanauma
Bay. Hanauma Bay is different than Au Au Canyon, since half of this crater
is sunk into the ocean. This forms a type of lagoon, and inside this lagoon,
there are a variety of different sea creatures, including sea turtles, Manta
Rays, and a great deal of coral.
